Director of Operations Job Description

The Director of Operations (DOO) will be responsible for overseeing our internal, day-to-day operations of the business. They help prioritize ideas and translate the big picture into a strategic, detailed, and actionable plan. The DOO will ensure the team is aligned and hold them accountable for data-driven decision-making and results. The DOO keeps their finger on the pulse of 100 Degrees Consulting to quickly identify, prioritize, remedy, and remove bottlenecks. This position will be the right hand of the CEO, and we are looking for a proactive leader whose priorities are strengthening the business on the inside and growing the business on the outside. The right person will be most interested in growing into a full-time role at 100 Degrees while enjoying a flexible work environment, rather than trying to build their own business empire.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Facilitates monthly, quarterly, and annual strategic planning and keeps the team aligned on short, medium, and long-term strategy
  • Executes the strategic plan, achieving or exceeding planned P&L results
  • Oversees all meeting agendas and effectiveness; facilitates and leads weekly team meetings
  • Attends department meetings to ensure cross-departmental integration, synergy, and alignment to goals
  • Works proactively and effectively with outside legal counsel, CPA, other contractors or professionals as needed
  • Analyzes, specifies, manages, and integrates technical solutions with business processes, systems, and partners

Data

  • Works with the CEO to effectively forecast income, expenses, and growth
  • Ensures consistent, accurate, and timely KPI reporting from all departments, including sales, marketing, and client service delivery
  • Uses data to identify bottlenecks before execution
  • Analyze and update pricing model and time analysis

Team

  • Strategically partner with leadership in recruitment, onboarding, development, and offboarding of best-in-class team
  • Ensures the team is healthy, functional, and cohesive; drives team meeting agendas and all action items
  • Balances team workload to ensure proper team utilization; ensure all work is assigned in Asana and project plans are thorough and detailed
  • Plan team education, including team retreats; understand and assess development needs and find resources to meet those needs
  • Confirm all key messages are properly and consistently communicated throughout the organization to ensure everyone is in the know
  • Assist with team culture and morale initiatives
  • Resolve issues effectively, see real problems, and get comfortable calling out problems and solving them in a practical, healthy manner

Systems

  • Oversee creation and maintenance of systems and create feedback loop for continuous improvement
  • Setup, integrate, and test all tech/tools and leverage automation where possible to increase efficiency
  • Assist with client and internal password management and tech access for the team as needed

Marketing

  • Determine, manage, and analyze marketing KPIs from all of our marketing channels, including but not limited to social media, email, speaking, podcast
  • Create initiatives for company growth to help meet predetermined revenue and sales goals, and lead the team in execution
  • Help develop scalable revenue streams and map out launch workflow and planning, including timelines and resources needed
  • Oversee Marketing Coordinator and ensure strategic and tactical goals are being met
  • Help develop editorial calendar to align with monthly, quarterly, and annual strategic goals 

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in an operations role of a growing company
  • 5+ year of proven experience in hiring, managing, and leading teams
  • Marketing and business development experience, preferably in a service and/or online business
  • Familiarity with the Visionary/Integrator concept

  • You’re not afraid of numbers; you don’t have to be a mathematician, but numbers are our game so you should be willing to learn CFO-speak. We also love KPIs and will look to you to analyze our metrics and make recommendations on how to improve or change course
  • Proactive, willing to learn new things and energized to grow in your role
  • While you’re super effective in getting the job done on your own, you also love supporting a growing team and visionary CEO; you’re a people person who loves bringing together a group of people to achieve a common goal

Logistics

  • Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience
  • The position will start part-time with 15-20 hours per week with the opportunity and intention to grow into full-time within six months, assuming growth and other targets are met
  • We offer a flexible, remote work environment

  • We operate on US business hours (mostly Eastern Time) so you must be available to respond to team communication and take meetings during that time
